Suspected herdsmen have killed 11 persons and injured another 20 in an attack on Mchia settlement, Benue State on Wednesday night .
Mchia is a settlement tucked between Abeda and Anyiin, located on Ugba-Anyiin road, Logo local government area in Benue state.
An eyewitness, Terna Unongo, told told newsmen that the suspected herdsmen stormed the community around 9 pm armed to the teeth.
“They surrounded houses and shot indiscriminately. In a melee that ensured, some people attempted to escape and were gunned down by the suspected herdsmen,” Unongo informed.
Those injured were rushed to hospitals in Anyiin and Ugba for treatment.
Chairman of Logo local government council Mrs.Salome Shiden confirmed the incident.
She said the matter has been reported to security agencies .
