If defiance of the school management’s decision to resume academic activities on August 29, the local chapter of the Ekiti State University (EKSU) Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has resolved to continue with the ongoing strike declared the union.
The decision, which was taken at the end of the chapter’s congress held today in Ado-Ekiti, is in contradiction of yesterday’s announcement by the institution’s management that academic activities will resume on August 29.
A statement signed by the chairman of ASUU, EKSU chapter, Dr. K.K. Arogundade, said that the proposals by the federal government to end the strike “remain unrealistic and appear more like white-elephant promises.”
