Three farmers killed by gunmen in Akure

Suspected Fulani terrorists on Tuesday killed three farmers in Ajagbusi community in Akure Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The state’s Police Command, DSP Ayanlade Olushola confirmed this while speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN.

He said the command has deployed operatives to comb the environment and apprehend the killers, while urging the residents not to take laws into their hands, and allow the security agencies to perform their lawful duty.

According to him, the command has mobilise all the needed resources to the affected area to ensure that the perpetrators are arrested and face the full wrath of the law.

“Yes, three farmers were killed by gunmen, and tactical teams have been deployed to the area to restore order and apprehend the assailants.

“So, security agencies are in place to forestall any breakdown of law and order in the area. The command urge all law abide citizens to go about their business without any fear,” Olushola said.

NAN gathered that the victims were ambushed on their farm and shot dead on Tuesday morning while riding a motorcycle.
