The Super Eagles of Nigeria played out a 2-2 draw with the Green falcon of Saudi Arabia at the Estádio Municipal de Portimão stadium in Portugal.
After a goalless first half, the Green Falcons of Saudi Arabia broke the deadlock in the 60th minute when Super Eagles goalie, Francis Uzoho’s howler gave the Asians the lead.
However, the Super Eagles counter-attacking and pressing football paid off in the 73rd minute when Saudi defender, Abdulelah Al-Amin scored an own goal to level scores for the West Africans.
Leicester City boy, Kelechi Iheanacho scored the second goal for the Super Eagles but referee added 10 minutes of additional time and the Green falcon leveled scores in the last second of the game.
Prior to the Super Eagles Friendly game, Saudi Arabia has lost 6 games across all competitions.
Nigeria will face fellow African side Mozambique on Monday in Portugal for the second international friendly lined up for October.
These matches are in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches, with the Super Eagles hosting Lesotho’s Crocodiles on November 17 and then traveling to play Zimbabwe four days later.
Super Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn in Group A with the hosts, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.
