Contrary to the official casualty figure which suggested that 43 rice farmers were slaughtered by the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists last Saturday at Zabarmari village in Jere Local Government of Borno State, the leader of the group, Abubakar Shekau has confirmed that the actual casualty figure was 78.
Claiming responsibility for the farmers’ killing, Shekau said in a video released on Tuesday, that more than 43 farmers were killed in the tragic incident.
According to him, the killing was a retaliation against the betrayal of his men by the farmers.
He vowed that the sect would go after those feeding the military with information on their activities.
