Saudi Arabia on Tuesday gave approval for residents of the kingdom to perform Umrah, an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina undertaken any time of the year, starting from October. 4, 2020, according to the state news agency SPA.
The approval for residents to perform the religious rites is pegged at 30% capacity, or 6,000 pilgrims a day, to take into account sanitary precautionary measures, SPA added.
In the same vein, visitors from outside the kingdom will be allowed to perform the pilgrimage in November 1, 2020.
